Rishi Patel, D.O.

Biography:

Dr. Rishi Patel is a well known local family medicine physician who is passionate about combining novel medical care with the traditional values of a family medicine doctor. A proponent of independent physicians, he started a private practice that enabled him to carry out his vision of doctor-patient relationships that are unencumbered by the corporate policies. Dr. Patel received his Bachelor’s in Bio-Chemistry from The Ohio State University and his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He finished his Family Medicine residency from St. Petersburg General Hospital where he was awarded “Resident of the year” award. He returned to the hospital as core teaching faculty for medical students and medical residents. As an energetic advocate of improvement and efficiency, he has been appointed to multiple Medical Executive Committees in various hospitals to help improve medical education and healthcare in the hospital setting. His leadership experience led to recent appointment to the Board of Directors at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital.

As a son of a teacher, Dr. Patel has been devoted to teaching and improving the local community. He believes that the only way to lasting success is if everyone does well together. Being a Buckeye, he enjoys irritating Michigan fans while accepting that Michigan does much better academically. He likes to spend time learning new activities with family and friends.
